Do You Follow A Specific Diet To Help With Hemophilia?
My family doesn’t follow a diet , but one thing that we do to help boost our hemoglobin and hematicrit from bleeding episodes is to make jello any flavor gelatin. Make as directed but do not refrigerate. Drink it down as quick as possible before it gets. This will help you to increase your labs without having to get blood transfusions. This is and old treatment but it works quick. My brother had no clotting factor and things are more improved now than what they use to be.
I’ve done a lot of research for my boys on this topic. Leafy greens comes out on top all the time. There is a kelp version of omega’s by Barleen’s that shouldn’t thin the platelets but give the needed omega’s. Lean proteins to help build muscle mass. Balanced, mostly plant based, Mediterranean and diabetic type diets, minus too much fish, all seem to work pretty well. If in doubt, look up the foods to see if they will interfere with blood clotting. And, remember, everything in moderation!!
As it turns out, what has worked out best for me is avoiding alcoholic beverages, sugary foods, tea, coffee ( avoiding caffeine), and making sure that I get plenty of thiamine—which is vitamin B1.
