I had TTP in 1992, my platelets were at 9000 and I almost didn't make it ,over 20 plasmapheresis exchanges, my port had to switched out because it malfunctioned ( thank god my husband noticed A change in my behavior concerning my plasma exchanges)and over a month in the hospital.A brain injury from lack of Oxygen and many many many mini strokes, last but no least damage to my nerves throughout my body so I am now in constant pain from head to toe and where the pain is changes from day to day.
